Focus On Life

Coping with terminal illness is one of life's most difficult challenges, for both patients and their loved ones. Haven Hospice, an affiliate of Solaris Health System, is dedicated to helping individuals find courage, strength and fulfillment as they journey through this experience.

The Essence of Hospice Care

Haven Hospice is a special program for patients and families who are coping with a terminal illness. People turn to hospice care, a form of palliative care, when more aggressive medical treatment is no longer available or desirable. Services are custom-designed to support each family's unique needs, with an emphasis on offering individuals choice, dignity and respect.

Our Team Approach

Hospice care is provided by an experienced, interdisciplinary team led by a board-certified physician who supervises all medical care. Members of our team include:
  • Physicians with access to the latest medical treatments, advances in pain- and symptom-management and drug therapies
  • Registered nurses and nurses aides, who are specially skilled in caring for the terminally ill
  • Counselors, who address a full range of psychosocial needs from diagnosis through bereavement
  • Clergy to support all faiths
  • Physical, occupational, speech and nutritional therapists
  • Trained volunteers who provide support and practical assistance to patients and families
