If a patient requires hospitalization, the Regional Cancer Center provides an inpatient unit dedicated to the specific needs of patients with cancer. One of the most important aspects of great care is comfort. We've made our patient's comfort and exceptional care needs our top priority. To make our patients more comfortable, each patient room comes equipped with televisions and VCRs. JFK Auxiliary Oncology Pavilion The JFK Auxiliary Oncology Pavilion, located on the third floor of JFK Medical Center, was recently renovated to better serve the changing needs of cancer patients. The newly designed and decorated unit consists of twenty-five beds, seven of which are private suites specially equipped for medical isolation cases. The unit also features an 8-chair, chemotherapy/transfusion suite, and an expansive family room, complete with comfortable chairs and sofas, an entertainment area and a refreshment station. In addition, the beautiful Mary Anne Hale Pavilion inpatient care facility, located at JFK Medical Center, provides a home-like environment. Inpatient hospice services are available at both our campuses. JFK Medical Center is affiliated with the Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick. This affiliation brings state-of-the-art cancer treatment, technology and research capabilities to the heart of the central New Jersey, expanding patient access to the most advanced cancer treatments and enhancing the availability of innovative research projects that will help patients live longer and healthier lives. The Pain Team The Pain Team is available through consult to patients and physicians to address their pain concerns. The team consists of a pharmacist and an advanced practice nurse. An initial assessment is done with the patient and recommendations to improve the plan of care are made to the physician. The patient is continually monitored throughout the hospitalization until the goal of pain control is achieved. |
