The Regional Cancer Center's cancer care team consists of experienced, skilled physicians from all specialities,
including surgeons/surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists,
radiologists, pathologists, neuro-oncologists and other specialists in many related
fields.
The surgical staff of The Regional Cancer Center provides services in a variety of specialties, including
reconstructive, gynecologic, urologic, neurologic, breast, colorectal and head and neck cancer surgery.
Our nurses are specially trained in cancer treatment and certified to administer chemotherapy. Many of our nurses
also hold a special certification in oncology patient care by the Oncology Nursing Society.
Other Regional Cancer Center team members include:
- Physicists who focus on treatment planning issues and radiation therapists who deliver treatment to the patients.
- Pharmacists with Doctor of Pharmacy degrees who are scientifically and technically competent in providing
pharmaceutical assistance.
- Counselors, who address a full range of psychosocial needs.
- Clergy to support all faiths.
- Physical, occupational, speech and nutritional therapists.
For patients who are diagnosed with primary or metastatic tumors of the brain and spinal cord, the Regional Cancer
Center team collaborates with professionals from the
New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Medical Center.
These experts, including two full-time neuro-oncologists and a dedicated neuropathologist, can offer patients
individualized attention and compassionate care coupled with the latest treatment options.
Treatment options may include:
- Neurosurgery
- Gamma Knife radiosurgery
- Stereotactic radiosurgery
- Radiation therapy
- Chemotherapy
- Interventional radiology
- Participation in research protocols and national clinical trials for candidates who meet the study criteria
