The Outpatient Infusion (OPI) room is location on the 3rd floor of JFK Medical Center, adjacent to the Oncology unit. It is able to accommodate six patients in recliners and one in bed. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8:00am-4:00pm. In this room patients are cared for by a certificed Oncology nurse. Medications are given through port-a-caths, PICC lines or peripheral IVs. Medications given include, but are not limited to, antibiotic therapy, chemotherapy, and erythrocyte and leukocyte cell stimulators. Blood transfusions are done in this room as well as plasmapharesis.
